At InstructureCon 2024, Lauren and Justin met for the first time—two educators passionate about making Canvas LMS training more effective, engaging, and hands-on.

Justin, alongside Sagan, had already built an interactive Canvas course, designed to take teachers beyond passive learning by immersing them in real, task-based training. With his deep expertise in Canvas administration, automation, and technical integrations, Justin had created a powerful foundation for teacher training. Sagan, an expert in IT infrastructure and security, helped ensure the course was scalable, secure, and efficient for districts to implement.​​​

Lauren, widely known as the “Canvas Queen” through her popular YouTube channel, had built a reputation as a trusted Canvas LMS trainer for educators worldwide. As an instructional designer and professional development specialist, she had spent years helping teachers master Canvas through engaging content and hands-on workshops. However, she was searching for a way to make Canvas LMS training truly performance-based—one that went beyond passive learning and actually ensured mastery.​​

When they connected, it became clear—they each had what the other was missing. Justin and Sagan had the technology. Lauren had the instructional expertise and educator reach.

By combining forces, they refined and expanded the course, creating Canvas EdTech Training—a self-paced, interactive training program where educators learn by doing, not just watching. The course now ensures that teachers demonstrate real mastery, receiving instant, automated feedback as they complete critical Canvas LMS tasks.
